About Middle Finder
A middle exists when you hold two positions on opposite sides of a line with a gap between them. If the final score lands in that gap, both bets win. This calculator uses normal distribution modeling with sport-specific standard deviations to estimate the probability of landing in the middle and the expected value of the combined position.
A trap is the opposite — when your positions overlap such that a zone exists where both bets lose. The calculator detects traps automatically and shows the trap probability in red. Positive EV middles are valuable opportunities; traps should generally be avoided.
